his sister “is convinced he is alive,” says family lawyer

Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès disappeared 11 years ago. The alleged perpetrator of a fivefold murder (his wife and his four children) disappeared in the wild in 2011 without a trace.

However, to this day, his family believes that he is still alive. “Christine, the sister of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès is convinced that he is alive, and she is convinced that we do not know the reality of the technical and material findings. She wonders where her brother is,” she explains. I Stephane Goldenstein, guest of the hour of the crime and lawyer for the sister and mother of the wanted man.

Even today, the search continues to find Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès. On June 21, 2021, police officers from the Central Office for the Repression of Violence against People (OCRVP) were working in the small Grimaud cemetery, between Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime. These men, whose primary mission is the hunt for fugitiveshe waited until nightfall to discreetly visit the place, planted with cypresses and dominated by an old windmill.

Research is still taking place in the Var

Another mill in the town, five kilometers from the coast, was long owned by Count Hubert Dupont de Ligonnès, a nuclear physical engineer who left his wife and three children when Xavier was just ten years old. Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes never stopped admiring this distant father who died in January 2011 and was buried in Lozère.

It was during this period, in 2011, that Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès also started practicing shooting regularly at a club in Nantes. With the .22 long rifle he inherited from his father. Weapon that he will equip with a silencer and that was surely used for the assassination. And if Dupont de Ligonnès had decided to commit suicide here, in this corner where he liked to play when he was a child and where as an adult he still came to walk? Graves in the Grimaud cemetery, recently opened or damaged, will be examined and searched, but the samples taken will reveal nothing.

This is not the first time researchers have visited this region. It is here again that the suspect passed after the crimes, April 15, 2011. We see him leaving the Formula 1 hotel in Roquebrune-sur-Argen. CCTV cameras film this customer walking away in the establishment’s parking lot. Only a week later, on the night of April 21, the gendarmes discovered his Citroen C5 in the parking lot. He left on foot, or maybe someone was waiting for him…
